Once upon a time—not too long ago—I had this little corner on Twitter where I’d share everything from life’s curveballs to random musings. I started in 2009, back when emojis were typed out like :-) and we thought hashtags were revolutionary. Over the years, that space became a collection of my victories, heartbreaks, and everyday chaos.
But as with all good stories, there were plot twists. After being mass reported (twice!) and losing everything, I realized it was time for a fresh start. I needed a space that couldn’t be taken away—a place to rebuild on my own terms. So here I am, typing this with a mix of nerves and excitement, welcoming you to my new home online.
If you’ve ever taken a programming class, you’ve probably encountered the classic “Hello, World.” It’s the universal first step—simple, straightforward, and full of possibility. This blog feels like my version of that, only with a twist: “Hello (Again) World.” A fresh start. A space to share my journey in my own voice.
If we haven’t met yet, let me introduce myself: I’m a mom, a chronic illness warrior, a dog rescuer, a business owner, and a perpetual rule breaker. My life is a patchwork of experiences—some beautiful, some brutal, and all worth sharing.
I’ve waited tables, worked in funeral homes, and designed websites. I studied computer science and mortuary science (because why not both?) and once served as a Director of IT. I’ve rescued dogs, run rescue organizations, and dug deep into nature—both in gardening and in my own healing. These days, I’m balancing life with a chronic illness, raising a child I was told I could never have, and figuring out how to live my best life without following everyone else’s rules.
This blog isn’t about being perfect or polished. It’s about sharing my path in an honest, friendly, and fun way. I’ll write about what’s worked for me, what’s flopped, and the lessons I’ve picked up along the way. You’ll find stories about dogs, parenting, health, gardening, finances, and maybe even a few late-night ramblings.
Living with chronic illness has been a journey of learning to navigate a health system that often fails people like me. I’ve had surgeries, endured years of misdiagnoses, and ultimately discovered that I had to become my own best advocate. Along the way, I’ve learned how to take better care of my body—not to cure it, but to live with it in the best way I can.
It hasn’t always been easy. There were days when I wasn’t sure I could keep standing—literally. I’ve passed out in public, been accused of being drunk (even though I don't drink), and had my body betray me in ways I never imagined. But I’ve also found a sense of purpose in the chaos, a love for the small things, and a refusal to give up on what matters most.
Whether you’re an old friend from my Twitter days or someone who stumbled in by chance, welcome. This is my place to share, connect, and hopefully inspire—without ever telling you how to live your life. I’ll keep it real, a little messy, and 100% me.
Pour yourself a cup of coffee (or tea, or whatever makes your heart happy), and let’s see where this journey takes us. Hello again, world.
